Going going gone

On Wednesday the moving company showed up & started packing up all our stuff. I was a bit surprised when I saw 2 girls ready to work. Haven't seen that before, but ok. They took 2 days to put all our stuff into boxes then today, Friday, 6 men showed up to put it all in the moving truck. One step closer to our move out west! We are in an empty house, with the exception of the stuff we will take into the trailer. We have both suvs in the garage, which has never happened in the 3 1/2 years we've been in this house. The kids are enjoying the wide open spaces. Emry has all kinds of room to crawl around now. Poor baby was trying to keep up with her siblings while they watched a movie on the floor & they kept moving away from her so she wouldn't touch the dvd player. She had such a tired & frustrated look on her face. At one point she just laid flat on the carpet. I picked her up & a minute later she was zonked. Hey works for me. 5 more nights then we head out to the lake in our trailer. Should be fun times....well in my head I'm thinking this, but in reality we'll see how it all pans out. I pray for no ticks. Yuck!

Kindergarten here she comes!

My baby girl graduated from pre-school Tuesday evening. She was all decked out in her white cap with a white tassel. I was so proud when she walked up to the microphone to say her verse & she did it perfectly, but I had no doubt. I'm ever so grateful that the school is giving us free copies of the graduation video because my cell phone was a bit slow in starting up & I missed her verse quote. I was able to sit back & enjoy the songs knowing I could watch it all again & again on video. She's growing too fast....as is her attitude. This fall she'll be in kindergarten & with that a longer school day. I'll miss her, but Lord knows a little time apart will do us both good. I hope she gets into a school with wonderful teachers & classmates. Excited for what's to come, but nervous at the same time. Here's to you Annika! I love you to infinity & beyond ;-)

A monkey, a bear, and a chick

So it's been decided. Emry is a chick. It took a bit longer to come up with her pet name, but Annika & Dalton were pretty easy. You see when our oldest was born & her daddy held her, she wrapped her little toes around his finger. She was like a little monkey, thus her nickname is monkey. When Dalton was born I referred to him as brother bear. Not sure why, but for some reason the Bearenstein Bears comes to mind. Anyway, hubby's favorite football team is the Chicago Bears so it seemed fit & he is the bear. He likes to growl too. Emry on the other hand, she made these kinda hiss/growl noises & we couldn't think of any animal that sounded like that. Then she did this blowing kinda raspberry noise, but again we couldn't think of an animal. Recently she's been bobbing her head forward kinda fast, almost as if she loses her ability to hold her head up. She reminded me of a chicken pecking for food. She's gotten both hubby & I in the face with her little pecking motion. Not sure why she does it, but she's like a little chick. I might just add an 'ie' at the end & call her chickie :-) Now our little circus is complete....although I can't recall seeing chickens in a circus.
